Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 19, 2026

The short version

Your images and videos never leave your device. TwinLens processes everything locally in your browser. We collect minimal, anonymous analytics to understand how many people use the tool. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal data.

What we collect

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics service, to count page views. Cloudflare collects:

Cloudflare does not use cookies, does not track users across sites, and does not store IP addresses. Data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individuals. See Cloudflare Web Analytics for details.

We also count the number of image comparisons performed (an anonymous counter with no metadata — just a tally per day).

What we do NOT collect

Feedback submissions

If you use the feedback form, we store your message and category (feature request, bug report, or thanks). If you choose to include your email, we store that too — solely to reply to you. Feedback is stored in a private cloud bucket and never shared.

Share links

When you use the Share feature, your images are uploaded to our server and a unique link is generated. Shared images are stored temporarily and automatically deleted after 14 days. No account is required.

Third parties

We do not use Google Fonts, advertising networks, social media trackers, or any other third-party services that track users.

Lawful basis (GDPR)

Our analytics processing is based on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — specifically, the interest in understanding aggregate usage of a free tool to improve it. We have assessed that this minimal, anonymous, cookie-free analytics does not override your rights and freedoms, given that no personal data is stored or processed.

International transfers

Fonts are self-hosted (no external requests). Cloudflare Web Analytics data is processed by Cloudflare, Inc., which participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. No personal data is transferred — analytics data is aggregated and anonymous.

Your rights

Under GDPR and similar privacy laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Since we do not collect personal data through normal use, there is typically nothing to access or delete. For feedback submissions that include your email, you can request deletion by contacting us.

Contact

For privacy questions or data requests, use the feedback form in the compare tool or email us at the address listed on our GitHub repository.

Changes

We may update this policy as the tool evolves. Material changes will be noted here with an updated date.
